Sancho's numbers are better than Messi and Ronaldo's combined at the same age

Jadon Sancho stole the show in the Bundesliga at the weekend with a hat-trick for Borussia Dortmund against Paderborn.

The England international has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence since moving to Germany and is now one of the most sought-after players in Europe.

The 20-year-old's statistics for goals and assists are far superior to those of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo at the same age.

In his 94 appearances for Dortmund, Sancho has scored 34 goals and made 43 assists, compared to Messi's 26 goals and eight assists in his first 70 appearances for Barcelona and Ronaldo's 16 goals and 16 assists in his first 107 appearances for Sporting CP and Manchester United.

If you put Messi and Ronaldo's figures together, they don't reach Sancho's total goal contribution of 77.

This season, the Dortmund No.7 has been involved in 33 leagues goals (17 goals and 16 assists) - the highest total of any player under the age of 21 in Europe's top five leagues.

That includes Kylian Mbappe, who has been involved in 23 (18 goals and five assists) for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.

In fact, Sancho's tally of 33 is already better than Mbappe's total from from the 2016/17 (23) and 2017/18 (21) seasons.

Only in 2018/19 did Mbappe better Sancho's number, with a total of 40 (33 goals and seven assists), but the Englishman still hasn't finished this season.

Since leaving Manchester City for eight million euros in 2017, Sancho has seen his stock rise exponentially.

He has become the jewel of Dortmund's exciting project and is attracting interest from clubs across the continent.

Transfermarkt value him at 117 million euros and, according to the Independent, Manchester United are ready to make an offer for him.
