MAN UTD'S NEXT TWO PRIORITIES SHOULD WAN-BISSAKA TRANSFER BE COMPLETED

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to step up his plans to bring in a central defender once Manchester United have signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

United and Crystal Palace are finally close to an agreement over the transfer of England Under-21s defender Wan-Bissaka.

Talks were held between the two parties after Palace rejected United's initial offer, with the Eagles looking for most of the transfer fee up front.

The deal could go through as early as next week but Solskjaer has other transfer priorities ahead of United's return to pre-season,

The Red Devils boss will now set his sights on bringing in a new central defender, reports the Mail.

Ajax skipper Matthijs de Ligt was United's No.1 target but they are close to giving up on the Dutchman.

Juventus appear to be in pole position with a £62m deal close to being agreed.

Harry Maguire was another option for Solskjaer, although United's efforts to land him have been thwarted by Leicester's valuation of £90m.

United have also had enquiries for Issa Diop rejected by West Ham , leaving Solskjaer exploring other options.

The United boss wants to add some youth to his backline this summer and is looking for a new partner for Victor Lindelof.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones both played at times last season while Eric Bailly is another option but Solskjaer wants a new face.

A new central midfielder is also high on Solskjaer's list of priorities after Ander Herrera's departure.

And the United boss may see his plans stepped up if Paul Pogba quits the club.

Declan Rice, Sean Longstaff and Adrien Rabiot have all been identified as potential signings by United.
