JUVE WILLING TO INCLUDE DOUGLAS COSTA IN DEAL TO SIGN WANTAWAY POGBA (GDS)

Juventus are reportedly willing to include Douglas Costa in any potential deal to sign wantaway star Paul Pogba from Manchester United .

The French World Cup winner  was re-signed by United in the summer of 2016 from Juventus for a then world record transfer fee of £89million.

But he has cast doubt over his future in the Premier League after revealing he is considering "a new challenge", comments that have alerted the attention of Europe's biggest clubs.

Pogba had spent four years with Juve after being sold to them by United for £1.5m in 2012, and the Italian club are keen on bringing him back to Italy this summer.

Speculation on a possible move to Real Madrid or a return to his former club has been mounting since a season in which Pogba faced criticism at times for his performances with United.

Mirror Football exclusively revealed last week that the Red Devils are ready to dig their heels in and hold out for at least £150million for Pogba this summer.

It is now understood that Juve have stepped up their pursuit with the club's sporting director Fabio Paratici recently meeting with United officials in England to discuss a potential deal.

It is claimed that Juve's opening offer is expected to be in the region of €130 million to €140m (£116m/$145m to £125m/$157m).

But United are reportedly standing firm on their valuation and this has led Juve to resort to Plan B, which could see them offer a player as part of any deal.

And Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Costa, the former Bayern Munich winger, is the man who could be included as a sweetener for the deal.
