POGBA REPLACEMENT? MAN UTD 'REVIVE INTEREST IN £40M MIDFIELDER TIELEMANS'

Manchester United 'have revived their interest in the Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans' as they seek a replacement for Paul Pogba.

Tielemans, 22, made a positive impression during a loan spell in the Premier League with Leicester City last season and reportedly won't return to his parent club Monaco.

And the Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to force through a deal for Tielemans and contact has again been made with his representatives.

United contracted Monaco earlier in the summer to see if they would be prepared to enter negotiations with the transfer fee believed to be in the region of £40million.

Leicester are understandably keen to sign Tielemans on a permanent basis following his impressive form for them, but United can offer the Belgian European football next season - albeit in the Europa League.

It comes as Solskjaer plans a major summer overhaul of his under-performing squad with United potentially facing the departure of France star Pogba to Real Madrid.

Real manager Zinedine Zidane is determined to make the move happen, according to reports in Spain, even though United are refusing to sell him.

Tielemans could plug the gap and, at just 22, certainly has time on his side to develop into a top class player.
