Why Manchester United star Greenwood is already a nightmare for defenders

Man utd news update live:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Mason Greenwood is already a 'nightmare' for defenders after he made it two goals in as many Manchester United starts.

Greenwood, 17, recovered from tonsillitis to start for United in their narrow League Cup win over Rochdale at Old Trafford, where he broke the deadlock on 68 minutes. Greenwood claimed his second United goal with his left foot and converted a penalty in the 5-3 shootout victory with his right.

The United striker has already scored more United goals from open play within a week than the injured Marcus Rashford has managed in nearly six months. "He's got two great feet," Solskjaer said. "And scored the penalty with his right. It must be a nightmare for defenders with him one-on-one in the box.

"He can go both ways which, for me, is fantastic. You can just see that he's got quality. He will get his share of games. He's young and we have to allow him to grow."

The 16-year-old Rochdale right-back Luke Matheson equalised in the 76th minute to force United into a shootout, where they netted all five of their spotkicks. United have scored one goal in five of their last six matches since they put four past Chelsea in the first game of the campaign and Solskjaer says it is an issue.
