Ex-Liverpool full-back thinks the team shouldn't be concerned by UCL defeat
Liverpool news update live:
Former Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson believes Jurgen Klopp's side have nothing to worry about following Champions League defeat to Napoli.
The Reds put in a solid display in Tuesday's Group E opener in Naples, but were undone late on by a Dries Mertens penalty and Fernando Llorente finish.
Johnson, who made the transfer to Anfield in 2009, claimed the 2-0 loss on Italian soil won't have any lasting effect on the reigning European champions.
"The good thing is it's the first group game so they've got plenty of time to turn it around," Johnson told Starsport.
"I don't think it'll have too much effect. Napoli's a bloody tough place to go, there's not many teams who do go there and roll them over.
"They shouldn't beat themselves up too much about it, and try and get back to winning ways against Chelsea at the weekend.
"I'm sure a lot of them will be saying 'we did this last year and went on to win the competition'.
"That should relieve any pressure that may have arisen, they've proven that it's not the end of the world."
