Darmian snubs Solskjaer after hailing Van Gaal and Mourinho
Man utd news update live:
Matteo Darmian snubbed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after hailing the influence of Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal during his unveiling at Parma.
The full-back was originally signed by Van Gaal from Torino in 2015 and enjoyed his best spell during his debut season at the club before falling out of favor.
Darmian reflected on his time at United during a press conference to announce his arrival at Parma and chose not to mention Solskjaer.
'Van Gaal and Mourinho are two great coaches, they have won a lot, you know them,' Darmian said.
'They are two great coaches who have left me something positive and I thank them.'
The 29-year-old also added that he had no regrets about his decision to join United, despite making just 92 appearances in four years.
'The choice to go to England at the time was easy,' he continued.
'Playing for such an important club was a source of pride and a great responsibility for me because wearing a glorious shirt always gives great responsibility.
'It was an experience that I would do again, very important for my career, I went to confront myself with a different culture and football, and it certainly made me grow both on and off the field.
'The first two years I played more, then the last year-and-a-half I played less but my desire to play pushed me to leave Manchester.'
