Keane brutally shut down Carragher live on air during a debate on Man United
EPL news update live:
Roy Keane took no prisoners in the Sky studio on Sunday as he brutally shut down Jamie Carragher live on air during a debate on Manchester United.
The former United midfielder has just signed a contract to be a regular pundit for the broadcaster and didn't take long to deliver his first savage blow.
After Keane watched Liverpool's victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Carragher was discussing how United can take note of his former club's previous bids to win the title before Keane got stuck in.
Carragher was making a point that Luis Suarez's arrival on Merseyside transformed Liverpool from a sixth-place team to title contenders under Brendan Rodgers.
But Keane was in no mood to agree, saying: 'But Jamie you just said "almost won the title", you didn't win a title. We're talking about Manchester United here.'
Carragher then replied: 'Forget the league title, you (United) need to bridge the gap (to Manchester City and Liverpool) first so you need two or three players to do that. At the moment you're sixth or seventh'.
Keane hit back with: 'That's right. But Liverpool are still trying to bridge that gap because they haven't got up there and won a league title.'
Fans predictably loved the exchange and took to social media afterwards to voice their pleasure.
