MAN UNITED FANS BELIEVE DANIEL JAMES CAN EMULATE ROBIN VAN PERSIE
Man utd news updates live:
Manchester United fans believe new signing Daniel James could emulate Robin van Persie after his shirt number was revealed.
James become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing as United boss last month wen he completed his £15million move from Championship side Swansea City.
The speedy Welsh winger joined on a five year deal and has been handed the No.21 shirt, previously worn by departing Ander Herrera, Diego Forlan and Fangzhuo Dong.
The 21-year-old wore the No.20 at his former club but as that squad number is currently taken by Diogo Dalot he has had to settle for one digit higher, but United fans have noticed a similarity to Van Persie.
When the Dutch striker moved to Old Trafford in 2012 from Arsenal for £20million he was handed the No.20 jersey and within a year United had won their 20th, record breaking league title.
Now that the 21-year-old James has arrived and been given the No.21, United fans are hoping that a 21st league title could be on the horizon.
It would certainly have to be a massive improvement on the past campaign after United finished 6th and a massive 32 points behind winners Man City.
But with a clear transfer strategy of signing young, exciting players there is a reason for optimisim.
