Bruno Fernandes 'desperate for Man Utd transfer to be completed'
Man utd news updates live:
Bruno Fernandes is expecting to seal a transfer for Manchester United this summer, according to latest reports from his native Portugal.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has targeted Sporting Lisbon ace Fernandes to strengthen his midfield - especially with Paul Pogba looking increasingly intent on a move.
And Fernandes is desperate for the move to happen in this transfer window.
The 24-year-old scored 32 goals in all competitions in the 2018-19 season, helping to fire Sporting Lisbon to the Portugese Cup, the Taca de Portugal and Portugese League Cup, the Taca de Liga.
And with such capability in front of goal, Fernandes would add sorely-needed goalscoring options to United's engine room .
Portuguese publication Correio da Manha claims Fernandes is desperate for the transfer to United to happen, and expects it to happen this summer, reports the Daily Star .
According to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, the player's agent Miguel Pinho is reportedly due to fly to Manchester on Wednesday night to put the finishing touches to the move .
Fernandes has reportedly already agreed personal terms and a contract worth around £100,000 per week, but a transfer fee has not yet been decided between the two clubs.
United want to pay around £32million for the midfielder, but Sporting holding out for £70m - although reports claim they could be swayed by an offer of around £53m.
Solskjaer has so far secured winger Daniel James from Swansea City and full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace , with Leicester centre-half Harry Maguire and Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff next in his sights.
