Solskjaer reveals how close Man Utd are to making third summer transfer (Mirror)
Man utd news update live:
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Manchester United are working on 'one or two' new signings.
United have brought in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer but have been linked with a host of players.
They remain interested in Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff while Leicester have confirmed they rejected two bids for Harry Maguire, believed to be from United.
Solskjaer insists he remains in the hunt for new signings with United chiefs continuing to work hard behind the scenes.
“I know it's hard getting players in and over the line. We've been doing our jobs," Solskjaer said.
"We've been finding, identifying players. Scouting them. But they have got clubs.
"It took time with Aaron (Wan-Bissaka), it took time with Dan (James), but they got it over the line.
“It's not like we're going to sign 10 players. It can't be a quick fix. We're working on one or two and we're still hoping, but I also understand that the market has changed and prices have soared."
Solskjaer admits he may have changed his mind on targets with clubs driving up their valuations this summer.
“We have been linked with so many players," the United boss added ahead of his side's pre-season clash with Leeds in Perth
"I think that Man United sometimes, because of the wealth maybe, we have had to pay more, a bigger premium to get players in and that’s just the world we live in.
"And we have taken our time, and we are not going to over pay, but we have to get the right people in, the right players.”
