McTominay reveals how Mourinho is still helping him at Man Utd
Man utd news update live:
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay says he regularly talks with former manager Jose Mourinho after games.
McTominay has emerged as one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's more consistent performers this season in a campaign hit by injuries and under-performing players.
Speaking to Sky Sports, McTominay has revealed how he still keeps in contact with Mourinho, who he says he owes a 'tremendous' amount to.
"I don't want to speak too much about previous managers, but Jose's very special to me," McTominay explained.
"He still keeps in contact with me now and keeps in touch with me after games and different things like that. So he'll always have a special place in mine and my family's heart because he was the one who brought you here, he was the one who trusted you, he's the one who had belief in you.
"I owe a tremendous amount of credit to him, because if it wasn't for him, I might not necessarily be sat in this seat."
McTominay made his debut under Mourinho, and has worked hard to keep his place under two managers. The secret to staying in the first team, he says, is making sure you take your chance when it arrives.
He continued: "It went quick [waiting for the opportunity]. You don't even have time to think about it. And when you do you have to take it, and if you don't then you'll probably be somewhere else."
