Vidic joins Matic at Man United training ground.

Manchester United host Liverpool on Sunday and former Red Devil Nemanja Vidic is certainly looking forward to the game.

In the build-up to the eagerly-anticipated clash Vidic paid a visit to United's Carrington training ground, where he posed for a picture with fellow Serbian Nemanja Matic.

Matic posted the image on Instagram and accompanied it with the caption: 'We come from Serbia', in reference to the popular chant that United fans used to sing about Vidic.

Vidic, who retired in 2016, will be a pundit for Sky Sports when United take on Liverpool.

A dependable centre-back, Vidic played for United between 2006 and 2014 and won an array of trophies, including the Champions League, five Premier League titles and three League Cups.

The 37-year-old has lent his support to caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, stating that the Norwegian should become United's manager on a permanent basis.

Vidici told Omnisport: 'The reputation Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho had, I think maybe the fans and everyone expected a bit more because [they were] top managers.

'Jose Mourinho, for me, is one of the best managers of the last 40 years but it didn't happen.

'Now I'm thinking Ole has done a great job, he knows the club, he knows the history of the club, he creates a positive atmosphere, he shows that he knows how to deal with the players as well. So my feeling is that it fits what Man United need now.'

'They are playing good, positive football. I think no other manager would do better than him.'

United go into the game against Liverpool in fourth place in the Premier League table.

Solskjaer has won 11 of his first 13 games at United, drawing once and losing once.
