Man City in negotiations with Laporte over a new contract (Mail).
Laporte signs;still in pend for new deal.
Manchester City are in negotiations with Aymeric Laporte over a new contract after a stellar first 12 months in England.
The central defender has been a near ever-present this season, playing every Premier League game and racking up more minutes than any other outfield player.
Laporte still has another four years left on the contract penned following his £57million switch from Athletic Bilbao.
Yet City have already moved to present the 24-year-old with a potential increase in wages at the behest of Pep Guardiola.
Sporting director Txiki Begiristain has entered negotiations with Laporte’s entourage and there are unlikely to be any hitches along the way.
City have moved to tie down their most prised assets over the last year, with Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson among those to have agreed fresh deals.
