Alexis Sanchez facing dilemma with 'Inter Milan unwilling to sign forward on a permanent deal

Alexis Sanchez may be faced with a dilemma this summer - because Manchester United and Inter Milan are reportedly not keen on keeping the outcast forward.

The 31-year-old may be forced to train separately from United's first-team squad at Carrington when the current season reaches a conclusion, after failing to impress during his Serie A loan spell.

And according to The Sun, neither club have any intention of keeping the struggling Chilean on their books.

The same report states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believed the negativity that surrounded Sanchez would have dogged his group of players, and also held concerns over the star's injury record.

However, Sanchez's contract at Old Trafford still has two years left to run and the finances involved may impose a major financial headache on the club.

Club chiefs may even have to reach a compromise with Sanchez in order to allow the player to leave, but this would likely require United needing to pay off the rest of the wideman's hefty wage packet.

An estimated £55million is still due to Sanchez until his terms expire in June 2022.

United covered the majority of the former Arsenal star's £500,000-a-week salary to ship him out of the club on a season-long loan this campaign.

But Inter are believed to have only covered £80,000-a-week, and the Italian giants are reluctant to secure Sanchez permanently or even extend his loan.

A string of poor performances at the San Siro resulted in just one goal in 15 appearances.

Sanchez may also find himself in limbo due to his exorbitant wage demands, with clubs likely to be heavily impacted financially due to the coronavirus crisis.

United were in the midst of an 11-game unbeaten run before football was halted, leaving Sanchez's position in the club's immediate first-team plans increasingly uncertain.

Serie A was among the first leagues to shutdown as players began to test positive for COVID-19, and Sanchez was given permission to head back to his native Chile.
