Atleti 'to land Laca in part-exchange for Partey' despite Juve & Milan links
Alexandre Lacazette is reportedly being targeted by several clubs this summer - and he could be used in a swap deal for Arsenal target Thomas Partey.
Mikel Arteta praised Lacazette after the French striker scored in the Gunners' 2-0 win at Wolves on Saturday.
But the Arsenal manager has preferred Eddie Nketiah to Lacazette for some games since the restart, and the forward has played second fiddle to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for most of the season.
Lacazette has two years left on his contract at the Emirates, so this summer could be the time to extract the most value from him - especially if his departure can help secure the signing of top target Partey.
Atletico Madrid are keen to land Lacazette in part-exchange for Partey, according to L'Equipe.
The French publication also reports that Juventus and Milan are monitoring the 29-year-old's situation.
However, Arteta insisted he was happy with the striker following the win over Wolves.
"We have to have a chat about the next step with him and get his ideas and his feelings," said the manager. "As I said, I am really happy with him.
''He's a player that I've always liked, even when I wasn't here, because of what he brings to the team: his qualities, his ability, his work rate. So let's see."
Midfielder Partey has been heavily linked with the Gunners this summer, and the 27-year-old is reported to be keen on a move to the Emirates.
However, the club may have to be creative in the transfer window given the financial impact of coronavirus.
So a swap deal with Atletico could prove tempting, especially with young players such as Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli impressing.
