Real Madrid 'ready to launch fresh transfer move for Pogba in summer'

Real Madrid are reportedly set to launch a fresh bid for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

Pogba has been widely tipped to leave United since last summer, when he appeared ready for a new challenge and said it would be "a dream" to play for Madrid.

The midfielder was also linked with a return to his former club Juventus, and the fact that he missed most of this season due to injury did nothing to quell the speculation.

However, Pogba has thrived since football's restart having been paired with January signing Bruno Fernandes for the first time.

And with the 27-year-old showing the kind of form that persuaded United to pay a then world-record £89million to Juve for him in 2016, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is ready to renew his interest.

That's according to Get Football News France, which says Zidane was "greatly annoyed" by the Spanish club's failure to land Pogba last summer.

The La Liga giants are keen on highly-rated Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, but French publication L’Équipe reports that Madrid are prepared to wait for the 17-year-old, and are instead focused on trying to lure Pogba during the summer transfer window.

But it looks like it will be much more difficult to tempt the player this summer, with Pogba and Fernandes having shown signs they can forge a formidable midfield partnership for United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side won 5-2 against Bournemouth in Saturday's Premier League clash, extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to 16 games - which started with their 6-0 FA Cup win at Tranmere on January 26.

That run has pushed United up to fifth in the Premier League - four points behind fourth-placed Leicester with a game in hand - and there is optimism that the Red Devils can be genuine contenders in the top flight next term.
