Greenwood pictured arriving for Man United training ahead of Watford fixture

Mason Greenwood has returned to the Manchester United training ground ahead of their fixture against Watford in the Premier League.

The teenage striker sat out training earlier in the week through illness and did not travel with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side for their draw against Club Brugge on Thursday night.

United had originally planned for Greenwood to start the draw in Belgium this week but had to rely on Anthony Martial to lead the line for the first leg of their round of 32 match.

The 18-year-old was a surprise absentee as the squad trained before flying to Belgium and the United manager confirmed it was down to illness.

"Mason hasn't travelled, he didn't feel well. Apart from that, it's more or less the same squad as Monday," Solskjaer told MUTV.

However, Greenwood was pictured arriving at training on Friday morning as his side prepare to welcome Watford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The 18-year-old's return is a boost to United ahead of a packed fixture schedule with games against Watford, Club Brugge and Everton in the next nine days.

Greenwood has been in fine form this season already scoring 10 goals following his promotion to first team regular after Romelu Lukaku's departure in the summer.
