Atletico and Roma are both keen on signing Lingard from Man Utd (ESPN)

Atletico Madrid and Roma are both reportedly keen on signing Man Utd's Jesse Lingard.

The 27-year-old midfielder was linked with the Old Trafford exit door last month, after joining forces with super-agent Mino Raiola.

Lingard's future at United remains uncertain amid the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, and he is now attracting interest from across Europe.

ESPN report that Atletico and Roma are leading the race for Lingard's signature should he leave United.

Raiola has been busy working on a transfer for Lingard's teammate and close friend Paul Pogba behind the scenes.

Many feel his new link up with Lingard suggests the England international is preparing to follow suit.

Lingard has gone from being a regular for United to the fringes of the first-team this season.

He has made 31 appearances so far this campaign, though 16 of those have been as a substitute.

His form has also led to him being dropped by Three Lions' boss Gareth Southgate.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted his recent cull of first-team stars was due to their 'heads not being here', suggesting Lingard would be free to leave should he wish to seek pastures new.

Lingard irked his club boss during the summer after posting a video on social media from his holiday where he was swearing and shouting while messing around with friends.

Lingard's current contract runs until 2021, but does contain an option for a further year.

However United may prefer to cash in on the star in order to help fund their summer transfer business.

Rumours had speculated United would try and use Lingard as a makeweight in a deal for Leicester's James Maddison at the end of the season.

With regards to a move aborad, relations between the club and Roma are already strong, due to Chris Smalling being on loan at the Italian club.

Should Lingard head to Italy he would be the latest former United star to appear in Serie A, following in the recent footsteps of Smalling, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young.
