MAN UTD GIVE DE GEA A WEEK TO DECIDE ON NEW £350,000-A-WEEK DEAL (SUN)
Manchester United have given David De Gea a week to decide whether to stay at the club.
The goalkeeper, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2020, has been offered a new contract worth £350,000-a-week.
As reported by The Sun, United want De Gea to make up his mind quickly regarding his future.
De Gea has long been regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in world football, but he has made some high-profile errors this season, the latest of which came in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea last weekend.
In addition, De Gea has made major mistakes against Everton, Barcelona and Arsenal in recent weeks.
There remains uncertainty over where De Gea will be playing next season, and that has affected his performances.
De Gea will retain his place in the United starting lineup for Sunday's game away to Huddersfield, with second-choice Sergio Romero ruled out with a knee injury.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer defended De Gea and backed the 28-year-old to rediscover his best form.
Solskjaer said: 'Of course we do (trust him), he's been fantastic this season. We're coming towards the end now. He's been in headlines for the wrong reasons but he has to deal with that.
'The goalkeeping department are fantastic, with Emilio (Alvarez), Sergio, Lee (Grant) and David. They're a tight-knit group. They've experienced better times than just now but he's ready for Sunday.'
