WHY MAN UTD COULD STILL QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Manchester United could still qualify for Champions League, but it depends on Premier League rivals Man City and Arsenal.
Manchester City could end up giving United a spot in Europe's premier competition.
The Premier League winners are being threatened with a Champions League ban due to financial irregularities.
City are currently under investigation by a regulatory committee following a series of leaks into their conduct. UEFA's financial control board are attempting to push for a one-year ban.
This means should City be removed from next year's competition, United could receive their spot.
Due to the fact UEFA allows five English teams into the competition, the Red Devils could join Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, who all booked their spaces by finishing in the top four.
However, this depends on whether Arsenal are successful in the Europa League final later this month.
The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League this season, meaning they missed out on a Champions League spot.
However, should they beat Chelsea in the Europa League final in Baku, Unai Emery's men will be allocated a spot in the competition next year.
This will mean United would be in line to take City's place if a ban occurs.
However, Arsenal would be in pole position should they lose to Chelsea.
