Solskjaer intends to see Pogba & Fernandes play in the same Utd XI
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed he has been thinking about the possibility of Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes playing in the same team this season.
Solskjaer admitted he has given thought to what a midfield consisting of both players could look like.
"Of course, you look at our squad and you want the best players playing together," he told NBC Sport . "You have a hope that we get to the stage where we really challenge for the league.
"We want to consistently keep winning games like Manchester United teams do by playing convincing, attacking, free-flowing football with flair."
The United boss heaped praise on Fernandes for lifting everyone at the club since his arrival.
Solskjaer believes there is no reason why he can't continue his exceptional showings.
He reckons if the 25-year-old hits a difficult run of form, he will be able to play through it due to his attitude and love for the game.
"He's definitely raised everybody; players, staff and supporters because he's given us a big boost with his performances," Solskjaer added.
"We can't demand or expect him to continue like this, of course we hope so.
"I can't see any reason why not but sometimes it just clicks for you early on and later on you hit a difficult patch.
"But he's the type of lad who will get through that because he loves football.
"He's an old fashioned: 'I know everything about football, I love football, I don't care about money, I just want to win'.
"It's been a big boost for everyone."
