Man Utd fans & Owen agree on Ighalo's impact at Old Trafford
Manchester United fans have been heaping praise on striker Odion Ighalo because of the impact he has had at Old Trafford.
Ighalo arrived at United as a back-up striker on January transfer deadline day on loan for the rest of the season from Shanghai Shenhua.
United were initially ridiculed for signing a player who has been playing in China for the last three years but the Nigerian has already started proving them wrong.
Ighalo has scored three goals in his two starts for the club so far in victories over Club Brugge and Derby County and has also made an impact when coming on as a substitute in Premier League matches.
The 30-year-old was introduced as a late change when United were a goal ahead in Sunday's Manchester derby victory over Manchester City and played a key role in securing the win.
It was his clever flick in the dying moments of the game which directly led to Ederson throwing the ball straight to Scott McTominay who fired it into an empty net from 40 yards.
United fans have been praising the impact that Ighalo had in the game and during his stay at United.
Former United striker Michael Owen has also been impressed with Ighalo's start to life in Manchester and believes he gives United a great plan B.
"Ighalo look at the strength and awareness. I like him, I must admit. I think he's a great alternative," Owen told Premier League productions.
