LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO PSG - PIQUE WARNS BARCELONA NOT TO BE CARRIED AWAY BY WIN

Despite beating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique isn't getting ahead of himself just yet.

The Catalans are well-positioned now to reach the semi-finals, but Pique was quick to issue a reminder of what happened in the previous round.

"After Paris Saint-Germain won here by a larger margin you can't trust the result," he said after the game.

"Look at what happened to them.

"They [United] are a great club and they can turn this around, but our fans will surely help us."

Pique previously called Old Trafford home and he admitted that returning there was an important occasion for him.

"It was special for me to come here," he continued.

"We are enjoying our best spell defensively and personally I feel very comfortable with my age and experience.

"It's a very difficult place to win.

"It's majestic and the crowd push a lot."
