How Manchester United could line up against Wolves in FA Cup

The number of changes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can make to his Manchester United side for this weekend's FA Cup tie versus Wolves is limited by a raft of defensive injuries.

Four fringe defenders — Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Marcos Rojo — are "getting closer" to full fitness according to Solskjaer but will not feature at Molineux.

Diogo Dalot could be in line for his first United start since the start of October after recovering from a groin injury, while Solskjaer is likely to reintroduce youngsters Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood. He confirmed that Sergio Romero would start in goal with David de Gea to be rested.

United's options at the back could mean Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire again start as the central defensive partnership, although Phil Jones and teenager Di'Shon Bernard could travel to Wolverhampton.

In midfield, United are again limited by injuries. Paul Pogba's injury situation has been well documented, with Solskjaer confirming the Frenchman had suffered a fresh problem. Scott McTominay remains sidelined.

First team regulars Fred, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are likely to remain in the side and Andreas Pereira is likely to be included too. Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes could be options from the bench.

Predicted United XI vs Wolves: Romero; Dalot, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams; Fred, Matic; Greenwood, Pereira, Rashford, Martial.
